"Hoodies for Homeless"
My desire accelerated as I viewed a friend’s Youtube film
“Hoodies for Homeless.” I have a smoldering passion for truly homeless people,
and to observe someone else take action in helping them brought a twinge of motivation.
My mind scurried to different ideas that I could do, and places that I could
help. Their idea was so simple, why
hadn’t I thought of doing that? Am I too selfish of my own time to help someone
else in need? I have come up with a personalized idea to plan for my own
“Hoodies for Homeless.” It may not include t-shirts and hoodies, but something
more along the lines of crocheted hats and something warm and beneficial for them.
I ponder the quote, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man
to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” And I realize that I would be giving
a man a fish, but you can’t starve a man while you teach him how to fish. Someday,
maybe I will teach a man out of a homeless life, but for now, I will feed him
and help him grow.

What's It To You?
A little boy sheepishly looked up
at his Mom, “Mom the preacher said today that Jesus lives inside of us, didn’t
he?” “Yes.” His Mother confidently replied cracking a smile. The
little boy continued, “And everyone tells me that Jesus is bigger than us, is
the right?” “That is correct” his Mother cautiously replied curious where he
was leading this conversation. The boy continued, “Well, if Jesus is bigger
than us, and He lives inside of us, shouldn’t He shine through?”
As my teacher rounded the
conclusion of the story, my thoughts whirled. Whether this story was true or
not, the message was heart thumping. I
have become accustomed to the “Jesus shine through you” sermon, but had never
heard it put as it just had been. Or was it just that I had decided that the
moral of this story should apply to me, and it’s more than just a thought?... What are you going to do with it?
